Study drug vials (or bottles) Explanation: The drugs used in clinical trials are very closely monitored, because they are not yet approved for general use or sale. So if a patient withdraws from a study, s/he must return any unused drug to the study personnel to be destroyed. By requiring patients to return vials (for liquids) or bottles (for pills), the study personnel can make sure that all of the drug is accounted for. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 33 mins (2014-06-24 22:26:36 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Oh, I see. I think it just means that the patient has to return the drug, and the bottles it came in (including unopened bottles, empty bottles, and opened but not completely empty bottles). |
