Italian term or phrase: corsi ordinari
I am looking for an understanding and good translation of the phrase 'corsi ordinari' in the context of the courses a School of Music is offering. I am not familiar with the curriculum of Music Colleges etc in Italy and what 'corsi ordinari' entail. Students have to take a pre-entrance exam which allows them to be admitted to the 'corsi ordinari' at the School. The full sentence reads 'avranno valore di pre-esame di ammissione ai corsi ordinari dell'Istituto'. Many thanks for any help here.

regular courses
Explanation:
or even "normal" but I think "ordinary" would not be said in English as it has a slightly negative ring.

I think these are "regular" in terms of being non-specialist and in in regular or day-time hours

In some conservatories they could be seen as "introductory " course which allow the student to continue on to higher levels and/or specialist courses

I agree with you. Ordinary is not the right word. Regular is right as it is referring to non-specialist courses as pointed out. Thanks very much for help.
