connected/wired to the duplex (receptacle) Explanation: http://www.electropedia.org/iev/iev.nsf/display?openform&iev... http://www.auditionveritable.com/cables_bis/cablebis.html http://www.apd.army.mil/jw2/xmldemo/p385_26/head.asp "Receptacle type. Incorporates within one device one or more receptacle outlets protected by the GFCI. Such devices are becoming popular because of their low cost. Most are of the duplex receptacle configuration and can provide GFCI protection for additional non-GFCI type receptacles connected "downstream" from the GFCI unit." |

plugged into a two-way socket Explanation: This is a bit of a guess, but in terms of health and safety, plugging too many appliances into the same socket would cause some danger. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 hrs (2014-06-10 08:09:50 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Remembering also the advertisement referred to in the comment by Chris Collister - one of those things that sticks in the mind. |

(plugged into the) desktop outlets Explanation: I suspect this is probably one of those double sockets built in to the desk top itself, i.e. at greater risk than if the equipment was merely plugged into a wall socket at a higher level than the desk top (where the spilt coffee is!) |
