I agree with some of the other discussion entries. The question that you have asked is not the real problem (nor is it a glossary term). How about "the human element is absolutely fundamental to us"? It's an abstract concept not something as specific as human beings. It's also about the importance of what humans, in the overall sense, do in a company - and their cost.

I think the expression you have entered as your question term probably isn't the real source of problems here; it is likely that your own suggested literal translation could work, but that is of course going to depend on what you do with the rest of the phrase.

To my mind, the real curx of the matter lies in what you do with l'humain — obviously 'human' as a species won't do, and 'human being' as a philosophical concept won't either. It rather looks as if this is a Human Resources context? In which case, I think you'll need to research some of the jargon currently being bandied around for 'piece of human resource', which ultimately — if rather cynically — is what they are talking about!
