I incorrectly thought at first that the slash represented two possible ways of reading bad handwriting, which of course was not the case

I would differ with Lingopro on two counts: the correct adjectival form is "pharmacokinetic" (without an "s" at the end), and the Hebrew "דמיון" is (and therefore the English "similarity" should be) in the singular.
