En la Declaración de postura de la NAMS de 2010:

"The 1997 NAS-recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for vitamin D is 400 IU/day for women ages 51 to 70 and 600 IU/day for women older than age 70.(ref) Current expert opinion, however, is that this intake level **is inadequate to maintain vitamin D deficiency** for optimum bone health.(ref)"

No sé si es que estoy cansada, pero me parece que esta frase no tiene sentido. Entiendo que la concentración (o nivel) de vitamina D recomendada es insuficiente, pero no entiendo qué quieren decir con la segunda parte de la frase. Como que no debería decir "deficiency". ¿Alguien me podría ayudar a aclararla?
