burner Explanation: On the page indicated below, I found the following: "- système d'extraction et de transfert vers la chaudière, générateur de chaleur composé d'un brûleur (ou avant-foyer) et d'une chaudière, automate de conduite et de surveillance, système d'épuration des rejets gazeux et d'évacuation des cendres." I've never heard this name "avant-foyer" in France, though. It may be local. Reference: http://www.senat.fr/rap/r05-436/r05-43624.html |

pre-burner [also pre-combustion chamber] Explanation: Note pre-burner is less technical than pre-combustion chamber. Also, even larger, would be a pre-furnace burner, easily a million euros. Many wood-gas turbines and generators require the final fuel to processed into a different form before final conversion in the main furnace. This would be performed in a separate chamber usually in front of the main chamber, hence pre-, and avant-, burner and foyer being equivalent (hearth, a place where something is burnt). Suitable for domestic to commercial enterprises, so size no problem. See for example and descriptions of wood-burning generators: www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/TDB_ODW1201.pdf/.../TDB_ODW1201.pdf or daq.state.nc.us/permits/psd/docs/hertford/App_Forms_B_C_D.pdf -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 days (2014-03-24 10:03:31 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- 2nd link http://daq.state.nc.us/permits/psd/docs/hertford/App_Forms_B... If it still doesn't work, cut and paste into browser address bar, cut everything after the last ".pdf" extension. It should load. 1st link www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/TDB_ODW1201.pdf I have checked both links by separately cutting and pasting into the browser location bar, and both now download the relevant pdfs. My apologies. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 days (2014-03-24 10:06:05 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- The .us link is as above, with the editing comment below. For some reason, Kudoz/ProZ is rewriting my URL entries. |
