French term or phrase: Compas de meuble à genouillère
I am assuming that "meuble" is nothing to do with furniture here but means "mobile" or "loose". I simply can't find a fitting English description that comes up with frequency in internet searches for this item...Any help much appreciated.

I have a JPG picture, but I'm not sure how to add that on here.

agree  Tony M: Yes... though the 'genouillère' part might be important — some kind of turnbuckle?
