Explanation:
Em português existe outra palavra para a contagem dos patamares de uma casa ou edifício, é ela a palavra piso. O 1.º piso (ou piso 1) é equivalente ao rés-do-chão, o 2.º piso equivalente ao 1.º andar, e assim por diante. Esta diferença na contagem tem por base o caminhar(/andar) exigido para que se chegue ao próximo patamar (no caso dos andares), e o piso significa o primeiro patamar que se pisa ao entrar num edifício. Quando os andares vão para baixo a numeração dos pisos percorre no sentido negativo: piso -1 (equivalente à 1.ª cave), piso -2, piso -3, etc
