French term or phrase: la marche entravée
Hi,

First of all, what should my general field be for 'fashion'? Moderators, please feel free to recategorise.

This comes from an academic course description for a module on accessories (shoes, maroquinerie).

Under a title 'Contenu indicatif des séances'

• La Chaussure : Présentation de la fabrication d’une chaussure.
• Présentation du vocabulaire, typologie, explication d’un plan de collection.
• Explication du marché.
• Le pied : Morphologie, la marche entravée, la mode et Fétichisme.

I'm not at all sure if 'marche entravée' is a commonly used phrase in the industry or not.

If so, what does it refer to?

If not, are we talking about people with some sort of disability or an effect of the shoe?

Thanks for any help!

(shoes as) a hindrance to walking
Explanation:
Presumably referring to things like high heels and Chinese footbinding, which make walking more difficult.

This is the phrase I used - though I was hoping for some examples in French, which Verginia provided. Thought I'd already graded this sorry for delay.
