Spanish term or phrase: cocina-office
Hello, I hope you can help me. I came across this term "cocina-office" in a Spanish property description and have a feeling that what they mean is a kitchen with a dining area, but would just like to confirm this! Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Breakfast room

Explanation:
I believe it is the so-called breakfast room. Which is an area of the house where you have quick meals, kids do their homework, you do some work, etc. You basically do things you wouldn't do in the main dining room of some big houses.

disagree  Cecilia Barraza-Mukherjee: a breakfast room is not within the kitchen whereas the "office" is.

Kitchenette

Explanation:
Lisa's answer above is on the right track. I believe this is the same as "cocina americana". Taking a look of the floor plan sketch or drawings would help if that's something readily available.

Hope this helps!

Explanation:
Yes, your guess is right - it's sometimes referred to as an 'American kitchen'.

agree  Maria-Ines Arratia: Guess this might be your best option, since this might mean that there is an office "corner" (a workstation or desk with a computer, for example) in the kitchen, which is quite a common feature of apartments and compact houses in North America.

neutral  philgoddard: I know Spanish estate agents use this phrase all the time, but I'm not convinced that it's meaningful in English, or that it's a translation of the Spanish phrase.

disagree  Cecilia Barraza-Mukherjee: Concuerdo con Phil. La cocina office no se refiere a un escritorio en la cocina.
