Ok, Sir, me too, I'm a mechanical engineer in the oil and gas field and much more than any other equivalent technical expression,"folga" is the most used, with no complements. I've read folga angular and it cannot be discarded, of course, but please, randomly choose any technical manual on torque in BRPT, and you'll notice how prevailing the word folga is. Thank you very much for your comments. I truly appreciated. Look forward to meeting you here. Best Regards, Janus P

Limitadores de binário sem folga São dispositivos de segurança “sem folga angular” que se desengatam mecanicamente assim que se alcança o binário predefinido para proteger os componentes da transmissão contra eventuais anomalias de funcionamento.

agree  Mauro Lando: certo, vejam :Some of these other functions are: backlash measurement, flange or yoke runout measurement, gear ratio measurement to a resolution of about 0.000,3 in ratio, no site : http://www.beta-aa.com/axle_assembly.html

Example sentence(s):
  • The SKF-5000 backlash-free torque limit couplings accommodate more than double the torque of older models. Designed using an array of torque-limiting elements, the limiter handles torques to over 4,000 lb-ft.

neutral  Nick Taylor: More than just folga I think. I am an engineer and "folga" isnt enough, it is too broad a definition for this type of "play". But it is true, English does have a much greater specific engineering lexicon so maybe you are right :-).

  -> It is mostly known as folga, not necessarily angular, but just folga. That's how engineers, technicians and blue collars refer to it.
