Russian term or phrase: информационная атака
Context - "information attacks" against banks:
отток вкладов в результате паники и специально организованных информационных атак

I see that there are plenty of references online to these "attacks". The expressions seems to mean propoaganda against banks. But I can't come up with our English equivalent, and time is against me..

Any ideas?

Thank you.

In my perception, the source text speaks about mass media publishing rumours about the financial standing of a certain bank rather than a DDoS attack on the bank's IT system.

neutral  Oleg Lozinskiy: You are right in describing the MEANING of the 'information attack' NOTION. But (there's always a BUT) the source text, imho, implies 'attacks' against a bank(s) in the mass media (including the Web) to destroy their credibility rather than DDoS, etc.
