Spanish term or phrase: soltar de
Hello. I suspect this is an archaic usage of "soltar". It's a quote from the "Boletín del Estado Mayor" of 1811:

Ayer se hizo gran día militar en el gran llano de Camponaraya, a las inmediaciones de Ponferrada.
Maniobraron con fuego dos Divisiones de Infantería, una Compañía de Artillería a Caballo y un Escuadrón de Caballería.
Se comió en el bosque de Fuentesnuevas, continuando a la tarde tan útil entretenimiento que ha proporcionado motivos de adelantamiento; y cuya repetición, a menudo, ***hará soltar las tropas más nuevas de todas las armas*** y los Jefes y Oficiales, se acostumbrarán, sobre el terreno, a practicar las reglas del arte aprendidas antes en el bufete, consiguiendo adquirir el desembarazo que exige la buena dirección de las armas.
