It's a vairety of lettuce which is sold in English as Lollo of which there are several varities. Being essentially an Itallian varity the "biondo" has been simply translated as blond. It is at times given as blond lollo or lollo blond. Sometimes is simply stated Lollo bionda" as in "Ilema is a new, attractive darker green Lollo Bionda type. The lettuce has a fine dome shaped structure and the leaves are fine to medium sized curled. The head weight is high. Ilema can be

In inglese non sarebbe biondo, ma verde (simile alle uve). Il lollo e` "prize head lettuce" Poi "lattughino biondo" sarebbe "green lettuce" e "lollo biondo" sarebbe "green prize head lettuce." Va bene anche usare la parola in italiano, lollo, come visto qua nel elenco d'ingredienti: http://www.freshexpress.com/product/certified-organic/organi...

Pero`, devo dirti che se chiedi a qualsiasi persona che parla inglese, e` probabile che "prizehead lettuce" non e` conosciuto. Ma questo e` un elenco di prodotti per un mercato, e per questo direi che va bene comunque. In either case, biondo is "green" here.

Lattughino: Tra le lattughe di questa varietà sono comprese le Italiane Lollo Bionda e Lollo Rossa, oltre alla lattuga gentile. Il lollo bionda e il lollo rossa sono lattughe molto arricciate e sono caratterizzate dalla lunga durata e dal gusto intenso. Tagliata finemente può essere mescolata in modo eccellente ad altri tipi di lattuga, nelle insalate miste. Sono anche adatte a condimenti forti e ad essere abbinate a carne fritta solo leggermente.

As I know it (and we grow it!) this is not babyleaf. It grows into a full head, but can be partially cut and continues growing.
