Swedish term or phrase: arbetsgemenskap
Of course it is clear what this is - a group of co-workers, the community of friends and colleagues one has at their workplace.

However I am looking for some one or two word phrase that expresses it nicely in English, and still remains an academic sounding term.

Any ideas?

Explanation:
I like the use of circle here as we find ourselves often to say that "the world is small" within the working environment

+ the website below seems to fit the concept

Notes to answerer
Asker: Excellent suggestion. Not sure it works though in the context of "närmaste arbetsgemenskapen," i.e. 'closest workplace community'

collegial workplace

Explanation:
At this late stage, I'll suggest a different spin on the idea, with a word that is more specific and limited in scope, and has a more positive connotation. Perhaps a minority view ... but here's some reading where this idea, among others, is suggested as a 'collegial, flexible workplace'.
