French term or phrase: modèles père et fils pouvant s’appeler entre eux
Document about how an IT system has helped with creation of document templates for insurance co.

When looking for a new IT solution, the company wanted:

Être accompagné pour le développement des templates de modèles. Le consultant a réalisé l’architecture des modèles en fonctions des lignes de produits. Ainsi sur la ligne assurance : création de modèles « père » et « fils » pouvant s’appeler entre eux.

I have found "master" for "pere" and possibly "child" for "fils" but I'm not 100% sure and also not sure how to phrase the end of the sentence.

Thanks

that can communicate with each other

Explanation:
Or inter-communicate? "call" bit too limited to the phone in my opinion.

modeles pere et fils pouvant s’appeler entre eux
nested templates

Explanation:
This is the technical term but as you are translating an IT document, why not?
Please note that in English, the other words are normally Master template and daughter templates

neutral  Daryo: limited context makes it difficult to be 100% sure, but "nested template" implies one template is inserted in/becomes part of another template; here it's about two distinct separate templates - one being a more elaborate version of the other.

parent and child templates that can invoke one another

Explanation:
Two templates, the "child" being derived from the "parent" and coordinated (or not) with it, as necessary
Lots of examples of parent and child templates in the context of insurance documentation.

Ex:
A Child (Recipient) Template may be created by a Recipient (or Publisher) and may be used to create child records, which may be written in the file sent to the Recipient system with a parent record, but with a different layout then the parent record (i.e., nested data structure). The Child Template binds with the parent Template (Publisher and/or Recipient Template) based on a binding variable.
