Explanation:
Concussion blasting se refiere a que el objetivo de la detonación no es demoler algo sino que la onda expansiva en el aire logre hacer desprender cualquier material que no esté firme. Por eso creo que el término es intraducible. Yo optaría por armar la frase para que quede claro el concepto:

Las tareas previas comenzaron el sábado 25 de junio con la detonación de explosivos dentro del silo, con el fin de hacer caer/desprender cualquier material compacto (compactado?) que estuviese endeble.
