Can someone translate " mise en sécurité " in English?I cannot read French
Here's the sentence.

la DIRIF va lancer un grand programme de modernisation des tunnels : en termes de stratégie, on ne parle pas de « mise en sécurité », ni de « rénovation »

Just for your reference, here's the English translation I could find on the web.
"The DIRIF is launching a major programme of tunnel modernisation: in terms of strategy, aspects of “improving the safety” and “renovation” are not evoked,"

If the writer had meant "bringing into compliance with regulations", that is what they would have written in the source text, but they didn't.

Explanation:
In terms of strategy, there is no mention of reinforcing safety, i.e, this program is not explicitly intended to bring the safety procedures up to recent standards.
