French term or phrase: lien sur (txt)
I am a bit confused with this often repeated phrase in a website I am translating. It is always followed by another website address but does this mean a link TO rather than ON and is the txt a text file or just to the text on the website? It's not really part of the body of my translation - more an instruction to the web designer as to what to link to.

The same structure appears in this context: Lien externe sur titre pour page en FR which is followed by a URL. Is this again a link to a heading?

Does anyone please know the correct terminology here. Sorry for the lack of context but it really just does appear in brackets like this at the end of each section I translate......

address (text to display)
Explanation:
As Phil and Tony say. If you're using Word, try selecting a word and then do "insert hyperlink" it will display two boxes - the top one is the "text to display" the second is the address/link to/URL (3 synonyms for a hyperlink).

Other software may use different terms, but will do essentially the same thing.
