French term or phrase: dégustation de choux chéris
This is one of the desserts to be found on the restaurant menu I'm translating at the moment. The clientèle is mostly tourists of all nationalities as the restaurant is in one of France's most visited tourist sites.

I think 'choux chéris' are made of choux pastry, so I thought of 'choux pastry tasters' but is there anything more specific and /or tempting?

Thanks for your suggestions!

neutral  Carol Gullidge: you could well be right (it sounds likely!), but, from past experience of menu translations, I wouldn't hazard a guess, however well founded it may be!

neutral  Carol Gullidge: Try as I might, I can't see where Delia mentions "Sweetheart"!//Then- without the 'dégustation' - it would be eminently suitable for a Valentines menu :)

  -> No sorry, that's my translation of "chéris"! Yes, I took it that this was a play on words being that chou and chéri are both terms of endearment - maybe that's why they put them on wedding cakes in France!

enjoy darling choux

Explanation:
I hear "darling" quite often in this and similar context, so I typed in the phrase at Linguee, and it does give darling as an option.
Instead of tasting I would use enjoy or enjoy the tase of...

Example sentence(s):
  • What a darling little dress!!

assortment of choux pastry treats

Explanation:
Dégustation on a menu very often means a tasting or sampling of something. However, as Carol points out, one is not sure, so perhaps this alternative would do.
