"Short" di sini mengacu pada praktek investor saham menjual saham yang tidak dimiliki dengan asumsi harga akan turun di kemudian hari, sehingga dapat memperoleh keuntungan sebelum harga turun. Saham tersebut biasanya meminjam pada sekuritas/broker pasar modal.
