I've used the term "Justification" in similar contexts but can't use it here. In this context it refers to the position taken or their stance on this particular issue, though I don't really think the word "position" would be appropriate.

Explanation:
I agree that simply "position" or "stance" does not sound right. Maybe this is because it has an informal undertone in English. To correct this I suggest adding the exegetic "official". What do people think?
