arranged in a pit (shape) Explanation: I do think that "en fosse" refers to the fact that the sofas in question can be arranged in a pit sectional configuration. It's clear from the images below that some sofas described as "pit sectionals" are more or less U-shaped. It's difficult to know with so little context how exactly to translate "assemblés".
