Spanish term or phrase: hacer una ronda
Hello,

I am translating a documentary about campesinos in Guatemala.
There is a term I am not sure who to translate. Looked everyone I could on the internet and cannot find a definition that applies to this context yet.

The interviewee says:

“Pero aquí te voy a decir: Durante 4 años pesados de lucha, ni CONAP ni Defensores ha venido a poner las patas a decirnos: ‘Señores en que los podemos ayudar’ o a decirnos tan siquiera ‘Miren aquí hay un maldito rastrillo, vayan a hacer una ronda. ¡Jamás!“

I have not been able to understand that a "ronda" is ... a circle? I know what a 'rastrillo' is .... but not the specific activity mentioned here: "hacer ronda" on the land or soil? raking, digging?

Would appreciate any ideas. Thank you, Estela

English translation:make a round
Explanation:
En este contexto, yo entiendo que los campesinos se quejan de sentirse solos y al desamparo:
"But listen to what I'm gonna tell you, during the last 4 years of hard struggle, neither CONAP nor the (public defenders?) have ventured to even COME forward and say" Hey, look, here's a damn rake so at the very least go and make a round" NEVER!

A round in this context, means "take the rake and go to work even though it's not the proper tool you need but rather the most rudimentary. At least I'm giving you something"

take it for a spin

Explanation:
Etc. They mean take the rake out to the field and try it out, you could express it several ways colloquially..
"Go out and give it a once over"...

"Not once have they ever shown face around here to say 'here's a (piece of farming machinery), take it out for a spin..."

Explanation:
Something like that. Take it for a spin, give it a try, use it, etc.

Asker: Thank you Phoenix ... Yes, a round, but what do you think 'a round' is specifically?
