In order for the light generation to be efficient enough to result in lasing, the active region of a semiconductor laser, where the recombination occurs, must be a DIRECT BANDGAP SEMICONDUCTOR.


Ja sam preveo kao :
Kako bi generisanje svjetlosti bilo dovoljno efikasno da rezultira laserskim zrakom, aktivni region poluprovodničkog lasera, gdje se rekombinacija nosilaca odvija, mora biti poluprovodnik sa direktnim energijskim procjepom.

...ali nisam bas siguran.

Ako imate preporuku za neki dobar rjecnik sa terminima iz elektronike i kvantne mehanike/poluprovodnika, bio bih veoma zahvalan.
