Marketing - Cosmetics, Beauty / Recruitment
French term or phrase: directrice d'axe
This term appears in a candidate profile for a recruitment firm. The candidate in question works in the cosmetics sector and has been "Directrice d'axe" for a major cosmetics brand:

Après un second congé maternité, on lui propose un virage important : rejoindre la Direction de Produits Grand Public en qualité de Directrice d’Axe sur **marque**.

I'm not sure how to translate directrice d'axe here: is she the brand manager or something more generic? I'd be grateful for your thoughts.

Many thanks.

Still no feedback from the end client, unfortunately, but in view of the company you mention, I'm pretty sure that this is correct. Thanks again Alison.

neutral  writeaway: it's not so much the English that needs explaining. It would be helpful to see a ref backing this as the correct translation/how does that show that directrice d'axe is a line manager???

Business Activity Director

Explanation:
I am fairly sure that it means manager/director of an activity-focussed (as opposed to client) organisational division within the company. In this case, the activity is consumer products. I have come across such organisational divisions being called "Business Centres"; however, that really wouldn't work here as a "Business Centre" is commonly a building! So, I suggest Business Activity Director/Manager.
