Lauf I would see here as the circulating status, i.e. documents passing through various stages of the process. see link below. Example sentence(s):

Standdokumente, on the other hand, are those "die den gewissen Stand an einem gewissen Tag reflektieren", thus showing the "status" of the document. So, lit. also "Current and Continuously Updated" documents. |

Google "static and dynamic documents" for context beyond the two web references given here. General observation: From what I have noticed (i.e. not researched here) "dynamic documents" is a new term, whereas "static documents" is struggling to gain ground, because of the frequency of the previously adequate terms "status reports", and "status updates", the latter one causing some problems when people try to decide at what particular point a "status update" becomes an addition or modification of what, in effect, is a "dynamic document". We may well see the gradual disappearance of "status updates" in the near future.
