La frase pertnece a los Estatutos de una sociedad limitada: Shares can be obtained both by monetary an non-monetary instalments.
El término que no sé ahora cómo traducir es "instalments".

Como dice Tradsiniestros, “pago en especie” sería una opción, pero se trata de cualquier pago que realices con “bienes”, no con dinero. Te incluyo un par de enlaces. En el segundo lo equipara a “real estate property” con “non-monetary installments”...

Para poner un ejemplo un poco chistoso, o quizá dramático, un jugador de póquer puede apostar dinero, hasta que se queda desplumado, y luego empieza a apostar todo lo que no es dinero, su reloj, su americana, sus pantalones... y al final se va a casa con un barril...

Siendo un poco más serio, cualquier “cosa” no-monetaria, no-pecuniaria, desde una casa, hasta un pase para ver los partidos de fútbol de Barça... podrían servir...

Monetary/non-monetary method
Under this translation method, monetary items (e.g. cash, accounts payable and receivable , andlong-term debt) are translated at the current rate while non-monetary items (e.g. inventory, fixed assets, and long-term investments) are translated at historical rates .


Monetary installments are paid to the bank account of the limited liability company. In non-monetary installments the general values of subjects or rights serve as the basis in valuation. Value of a non-monetary installment is assessed by the board. In cases constituted by law assessments of non-monetary installments are checked by an auditor. Upon non-monetary installments contracts are signed with company where the handing over of a subject or a right is being described.

Asker: Mi duda era si en una sociedad mercantil se pueden comprar las acciones a plazos y tampoco entiendo lo que es una entrega o un plazo "no monetario" para comprar una acción. O sea, el término instalment está claro que se puede traducir por plazo, cuuota entrega, pero en este contexto de las acciones de una sociedad (en el que yo no soy experto, desde luego) no lo entiendo bien.
