prove yourself vis-à-vis the group Explanation: vis-à-vis =in relation to or "within the group" I think the "se révéler" is more about the kid gaining a sense of self worth within the group dynamic, knowing they are competent and can fit into the group and play their part in the project. So yes, it's about interaction, but also about proving onesel to oneself -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2013-05-16 10:14:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- oneselF -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2013-05-16 10:46:17 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- yes, it is tricky distinguishing between them. Reference: Definition of "se réléver" Reference information: Hello, This verb indeed has to do with someone showing one's talent, or "blossoming". I don't think it's about proving anything to the group, but rather that the group helps the person to bring out their best qualities o or assets. ♦ ARTS, SPECTACLES, SPORTS. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 18 hrs (2013-05-17 04:06:27 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, I misspelled "se révéler" in the reference box!!! |
