Can I just ask one more thing? That same sentence (I didn't post the whole sentence) includes the Dutch 'meertalige voorleesuurtjes', which I translated as 'multiligual story times'. Does that sound right to you guys? Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your help! I think I'm going to leave it at 'workshops' or maybe game-playing workshops although I think that is rather long. The Foyer-brocure is indeed the context. I'm not sure about the age of the kids.

an 'atelier', in Dutch, is indeed a workshop. However, I think it is also true that if it involves children, it could also be a 'playgroup'.

playgroup: a regular meeting of a group of preschool children at a particular place, organized by parents for their children to take part in supervised creative and social play

workshop: a meeting at which a group of people engage in intensive discussion and activity on a particular subject or project

How about just 'multilingual workshops, and leave it at that? Or something longer like 'multilingual workshops involving games'...

I assume you mean sth like this:

• gameplay: the features of a computer game, such as its plot and the way it is played, as distinct from the graphics and sound effects (Oxford)

• Gameplay is the specific way in which players interact with a game, and in particular with video games. Gameplay is the pattern defined through the game rules, connection between player and the game, challenges and overcoming them, plot and player's connection with it. How do you propose getting around the problem of 'spelletjes' then, which basically just means 'games'? 'Multilingual games workshops' doesn't seem quite right.

Not really sure what they are exactly without further context, but 'workshop' is a word that can mean so many things it might be just what you are looking for!

or maybe something like 'play workshops' (as in: 'Scrapstore has 15 years experience of facilitating creative art and play workshops for children and young people.')
