Swedish term or phrase: tillsatta i nationell konkurrens
I would like some clarification of this phrase which appears in the following context:

"De facto har dock en profilering kommit till stånd, främst som ett resultat av att, såsom fallet blev 2010, forskningsstarka tjänsteinnehavare, tillsatta i nationell konkurrens kommit att dela samma institutionsgemenskap."

I understand that there are competitions with regard to research funding at universities, but how could I phrase this in relation to the term I have stated above. I am struggling a bit here - I think it is the verb "tillsätta" that is puzzling me.

Any suggestions most appreciated.

appointed after national competitive search
Explanation:
I read this a university positions filled (by appointment) after a national competitive search process. That's the way things are done here -- very formal and highly competitive. Have listened to many 'stories' from my sister-in-law and her husband ... before they becam professors both.

Keep juggling, it keeps us young!
