Italian term or phrase: Codice della Nautica da Diporto
This is from a nulla osta from the Ufficio Circondariale Marittimo allowing a pleasure craft to be cancelled from the Italian registry in order to register it abroad. The context is not helpful:

"Visto art. 21 comma 2 lettera A del D. Lgs 171/2005 Codice della Nautica da Diporto"

There are other similar bureaucratic expressions. I translated it with "Law governing pleasure craft", which doesn't sound awfully good. Does anyone know of an "official" translation?

Thanks.

se proprio non vuoi usare Code, e preferisci Law (anche anteposto) il termine più idoneo in inglese per nautica da diporto è recreational craft (pleasure caft a mio avviso è più colloquiale)

spero che i riferimenti ti siano comunque di aiuto

neutral  Daniela Zambrini: I wouldn't limit it to sailing. Directive 94/25/EC defines recreational craft as boats of any type, regardless of their means of propulsion, with 2.5 to 24m hull lengths.

Explanation:
Like Daniela, I don't think this is restricted to sailing craft.
