Explanation:
As far as I know there isn't a direct translation for randning/sidotjänst but perhaps something like parallel or sub or even minor specialisation could be a term to use?

  -> That is exactly what I meant by specialty residency training, so they pick an area after i.e surgical, and go into colo-rectal surgery. If they want a sub-specialty after that, it would be a fellowship or board cert.
