Correction, explanation: The specialty residency is not immediately after the first-year residency,. What I meant is that the first year is a general residency (where they're not in a specialty). I apologize.

Explanation:
As far as I know there isn't a direct translation for randning/sidotjänst but perhaps something like parallel or sub or even minor specialisation could be a term to use?
