La expresión “without breaking character” tiene relación en este caso concreto con el actor británico Daniel Day Lewis, ganador de tres premios Oscar al mejor actor, y su particular forma de interpretar sus papeles en las películas en las que interviene. La expresión “to break character on stage/in front of a camera" se emplea en inglés tanto al mundo del teatro como del cine. Os adjunto un fragmento de un artículo del diario The Telegraph donde aparece la expresión que me interesa:
