Hi all! I'm translating an academic paper entitled "TENSÕES, ESCOLHAS E EXPECTATIVAS: IDEIAS POLÍTICAS E CONTEXTO HISTÓRICO E SOCIAL A PARTIR DE TRAJETÓRIAS INDIVIDUAIS". This passage is by Pierre Bourdieu and I am finding it quite difficult to translate as a whole, but I don't understand this phrase, isn't there a word missing? Shouldn't it be 'que não seja'?

Assim, o historiador não se deixaria “iludir” por um relato ou uma sequência de acontecimentos coerentes e bem direcionados. Afinal, não há praticamente nenhuma constância na trajetória e no pensamento de um indivíduo. Nas palavras de Bourdieu:

"Tentar compreender uma vida como uma série única e por si suficiente de acontecimentos sucessivos, sem outro vínculo **que não a associação*** a um ‘sujeito’ cuja constância certamente não é senão aquela de um nome próprio, é quase tão absurdo quanto tentar explicar a razão de um trajeto no metrô sem levar em conta a estrutura da rede, isto é, a matriz das relações objetivas entre diferentes estações. (...) O que equivale dizer que não podemos compreender uma trajetória (isto é, o envelhecimento social que, embora o acompanhe de forma inevitável, é independente do envelhecimento biológico) sem que tenhamos previamente construído os estados sucessivos do campo no qual ela se desenrolou e, logo, o conjunto das relações objetivas que uniram o agente considerado – pelo menos em certo número de estados pertinentes – ao conjunto dos outros agentes envolvidos no mesmo campo e confrontados com o mesmo espaço dos possíveis."
