Explanation:
Čuj, da si rekao barem o kojem uređaju se radi, možda bi našao nekoga tko set ime bavi pa nešto rekao, ali nagađam da bi onda dobio riječ koja je prije 200 godina bila njemačka :) ... A ovaj wild guess je baziran na ideji gradera kao bulldozera koji izravnava neki rastresiti sloj i potpuno je po sjećanju i nepouzdan, ali možda ti eliminira jednu riječ ako se ksupi dosta negativnih.

Explanation:
Svojevremeno sam radio sa geodetima preko student servisa. Inženjeri su baratali onim precinim mjernim uređajima koji su se vali teodolit, a mi bedaci smo trebali samo držati letvu na a to određenim referentnim položajima (tzv. reperima).
Tada se to zvalo mjerna letva ili naprosto letva.
