My link to Youtube doesn't seem to work, so can't give you a link to the song... anyway, listen to it if you can. If I go by the tune, there is no problem with the 2nd last line - "des mots bizarres" being 5 notes (+ 5 syllables). For the first two lines, would be difficult to fit it in..but one could say (more comfortably for the tune) " and when I see my little station, where the trains passed/chuffed/chugged gaily by" The beats are on see, lit-, sta-, trains, gai-, by, in those two lines. This is all great fun, but I don't know if kashew wants a singable version!

9 syll - 8 syll - 9syll - 5 + 4 syll. If one could reduce the 2nd last line to 4 syllables, then the rhythm and rhyme would match the Fr.

I'm going to be very old-fashioned here!! (Mais j'assume sans complexe!!!) The song these lines are a quote from is "Ménilmontant" by Charles Trénet http://fr.lyrics-copy.com/charles-trenet/menilmontant.htm
released in 1939, if I'm not mistaken. Buzz seems to me to be very anachronistic - Verginia's quote coming from (again if I'm not mistaken) 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. Anyway, the song is totally nostalgic, and seems to be very in tune with kashew's link to Mémoire de la gare de Ménilmontant. All that to say that I'm not very keen on buzz -especially when the "buzz" is , amongst other things, people saying fond farewells to each other..
