ne doit pas risquer d\'engager must not risk involving involve ; must not risk; must not endanger; Explanation: You can take a first line basic reading of the verb "engager", thus "involve". Then you run the verbs at the end together and in fact, something which "risks involving" can be shortened to "risk" alone without compromising the meaning at all. Indeed, you could even drop "risk" and use "involve" alone with the modal auxiliary. In short, once you have the meaning in your mind, the style of what has preceded enables you to determine the end of the sentence in any number of ways. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 14 hrs (2013-01-27 09:47:03 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry about the infinitive "involve" at the end of the first suggestion.
