Sitting back, hoping that everything will work out in the event that a key executive moves on is not a viable option. ***Enter stage left:*** “talent spotting.” Here, choosing the right external partner is an important decision. Talent spotting means constantly trawling the market to find potential successors – for mission-critical roles in your own business – who are currently working for another organization. In other words, your succession strategy embraces not just internal candidates but the wider market generally.

Yo lo haría así. "Enter stage left" es una frase hecha que se emplea también fuera del contexto teatral, como aquí, para expresar la idea de que se introduce un importante elemento nuevo. Supongo que se podría poner "sale a la escena", pero para mí la metáfora teatral queda un poco forzada en español, y me parece más natural abandonar y emplear una expresión como la que he propuesto.
