This is the sentence where the phrase occurs:

"(...) já há 100 anos eram uma referência tecnológica, com lagares de pedra adaptados a carros e com estruturas movidas a eletricidade"

This relates to something used in winemaking 100 years ago and which was then an innovation. I don't understand what this "adaptados a carros" might refer to.
