ma sarebbe un po' troppo lungo e spezzato, da qui la scelta di fotogenia (una cosa bella per il cinema possiamo dire che è fotogenica, termine usato per le persone, vero, ma qui credo che si possa fare un'eccezione, visto il tipo di testo)...

Naturalmente "straordinaria" puoi sostituirla con altri aggettivi.

Qui secondo me il senso è questo, cioè l'attenzione è sulla bellezza della piazza (good looks), non sul fatto che sia stata set di svariati film, a mio avviso, tanto da paragonarla a una stella del grande schermo (film star).
