French term or phrase: Mât de caisse
I suspect that this means that pole or mast that rises from till points in supermarkets so that the assistant can communicate with their supervisor and call for help if needed.... but have been unable to find confirmation of this. However, I have no idea what term would be used in English to describe such a thing if indeed this is what it is. Can anyone help on either or both counts?

It simply appears in a checklist for a supermarket inspection - looking at all areas of the store.

Thanks in advance.

Explanation:
The French term means mast literally. In UK they are called checkout poles but are usually illuminated by cable so are called "Power Poles". See link
