Taken from a document about a supermarket quality inspection, this is just one item in a very long list of things to be checked:

Les housses de caddies:

Elles ne sont pas déchirées et ne contiennent pas de produits en vrac (brisure de coquille st jacques, petit pois….)

Are these baby or kiddy seat covers you place in supermarket trollies? I can't think what else they would be in this context, but am slightly confused by the description that follows - they are shown to be clean due to the fact that they don't contain any broken bits of coquille st jacques or peas!! How bizarre! Or am I barking up the wrong tree and these are different types of 'housses' that possibly could contain such unacceptable items?! Or do French babies leave such debris behind them after a food shopping trip, perhaps? (!) :) Am trying to imagine myself in a French supermarket, looking out for signs of dirt, rogue peas or seafood etc.

The picture seems to indicate the reality. I do remember as a child that the comfort needed increasing.
