battle of Ohod Explanation: . -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 mins (2012-11-02 15:30:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Battle of Uhud/ Ohod/ Auhad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Battle_of_Auhad.gif -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2012-11-02 15:38:13 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here, it is the battle and what happened in it that matter more than the place. تاریخ تنگه احد means what happened in Uhud battle (Muslims defeated because of not obeying the Prophet's orders to stand in the area). Anyway, if you translate it merely to تنگه you have skipped the historical event behind it; I think it is better to translate it as "battle". |

تنگهی احد Uhud [leaving strategic] vale/slopes [story] Explanation: I know the story of this battle and I visited this mountain which is nearby Medina. If you visit this mountain on Google earth/maps you can realize it better. However there is a strategic outcrops and a small vale which could be used for surrounding Muslims. اجازه نمی دهیم تاریخ تنگه ی احد تکرار شود means that he saw himself in the strategic place that if he (or they) leaves it the history repeats. ravine of Uhud Explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Uhud From this description it seems like "ravine of Uhud" describes تنگه as a land feature. Depending on the actual geography, it could probably also be translated as "pass" "defile" "gap" |
