"There was a trick to driving a car in a don't-mind-me kind of way and he seemed to have it."

Mi sfugge la sfumatura di "don't-mind-me" in questo contesto. A me sembra venga usato con il significato di "cool", ma il traduttore del testo (che io sto revisionando) l'ha reso così:

"Doveva esserci un trucco per guidare un'auto in maniera anonima e lui sembrava conoscerlo."

Explanation:
Io tradurrei con 'Doveva esserci un trucco per guidare in modo da non attirare l'attenzione, e lui sembrava conoscerlo'. In alternativa potrebbe anche andar bene 'in un modo che non attirasse l'attenzione'. Sono giusto un paio di possibili soluzioni, spero servano :)
