It's a tricky one as the person involved seems to be authorised to sign documents in the absence of the beneficial owner, but is not authorised to make the actual decisions requiring a signature, and then sign the relevant documents; a small but significant difference. In some way they have fewer powers than someone actually authorised to represent the company.

The context would seem to suggest "who is an authorised signatory".

I know when I open an account, authorized persons have to sign a signature card. While it may be scanned and available to the tellers in the bank electronically, there is a piece of paper somewhere that I signed that can be checked to make sure any actions were indeed authorized by an account owner.

I guess they mean to say Vertragsunterschrift or Vertragsunterzeichnung. Konventionalstrafe for instance is nothing but Vertragsstrafe. Could it be the same here as well?
