However, just sometimes it is necessary to distinguish between several different types of 'liaison', in which instance this might be one possible solution.

Do please note, however, that the use of 'feeder' is probably ONLY applicable in Asker's specific context, where we know for sure there is some 'feeding' going on; the FR term may be used in other contexts where this is not the case, and hence the term could turn out to be quite unsuitable.
