Physiotherapy Explanation: Physiotherapy (Physiatrie) is different from Chiropractic (Osteopathy) Chiropractic removes stress to the nervous system by delivering specific chiropractic adjustments. Chiropractic does not treat symptoms, rather it aims to take the stress off the body so the body can heal itself. On the other hand, Physiotherapy treats symptoms with exercises and other physical treatments and fits in with the medical model. It is especially helpful with rehabilitation after accidents, surgery or other minor injuries Reference: http://www.onestophealth.com.au/The-difference-between.html Reference: http://totalchiro.com.au/what%E2%80%99s-the-difference-betwe... |

physiatry Explanation: Physiatry is a specialty in medicine dealing with rehabilitation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_medicine_and_rehabilit... Physiatrists have an MD and additional training. Chiropractic is a belief system, outside of medicine, that a multitude of human conditions are due to subluxations of the spine which can be addressed by manipulation of the spine. Chiroprators do not have an MD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiropractic -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2012-10-01 03:20:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- To Nancy: Not in Quebec, not anywhere. |
