Medical - Medical: Instruments
Portuguese term or phrase: NT
This is from a Brazilian calibration certificate for an electrocardiograph.

In the “Equipment Identification” section, after “Equipment” (the Electrocardiograph), “Brand” and “Model”, there is “Patrimônio” and then “Serial No.”, and the Patrimônio and Serial No. are given as “NT”. I’m not sure about “Patrimônio”, but I’ve seen it translated as “Asset” a few places, and I believe it refers to the asset number, i.e. the internal equipment number that identifies a company’s fixed assets. I thought “NT” stood for “Não Tributado”, i.e. not taxed, and I can understand this in the context of an asset but “Não Tributado” doesn’t make sense to me for a serial number. There should be an actual number here. Or does “NT” stand for something like not given or not applicable? Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thank you very much.

Explanation:
I understand that these details are on a certificate and not on the actual device. The only NT I could find in this context is "Número de Tombamento", or Registration Number", as "tombamento" refers to the process of registration of fixed assets in an orzanization.

So could it mean "Não Tombado", "not registered", in the sense that this device has not been registered as a fixed asset of the organization which issued the certificate, but rather belongs to some other category of assets?

Example sentence(s):
  • Tombamento é o procedimento administrativo que consiste em identificar cada material permanente com um número único de registro patrimonial, denominado Número de Tombamento – NT,
